Escape Weekend: Silver Falls State Park and Renn Faire

We decided to take a mini weekend away from work and wedding planning to escape into nature. We took the scenic route thru Monitor, OR ( blink and you will miss it, unless you are stuck behind a tractor) and got ourselves an adorable little cabin at Smith Creek Village inside Silver Fall State Park in Silverton. Our little room had electricity, running water and an adorable porch where we couldn't resist taking a picture before heading off to check out the waterfalls with the remaining daylight. We decided for the smaller of the two loops and enjoyed being far from concerns about anything other than being together. Adam almost led us back into the park going on a wrong trail, fortunately we made a u-turn and were in the car after some quick hiking with a flashlight! The Canterbury Renn Faire was a delight, folks in costumes, many kids and beautiful art to stare at and dream about wearing at other Renaissance events. We particularly enjoyed cheering for the French Knights and seeing a great horned owl with it's owner. 

Back to work and getting vows figured out!
